Here and there in June and July

We took our now usual short weekend break to the East coast so we could go to the RSPB place at Bempton Cliffs and see all the amazing birdlife. We stayed at a very old fashioned guest house in Bridlington and had fish and chips on the prom. I find a trip there also moving as so many of my family ancestors lived there or nearby.
On the way home we visited Burton Agnes Hall – where there are family connections at the little church on the hall estate – and there was a flower festival on. Lovely grounds. I got stung in the eye by a big fat bumble bee so after getting some wonderful care from the staff there we went to A&E at Driffield and I got the ok after the sting was removed. It was agony for some hours but thankfully no lasting damage.

Weekend away. During July we had a long weekend at an old hotel close to a quiet canal in Warwickshire and a short walk from a canalised pub. Lovely weather and such a nice spot. Walks on the towpath, nice meals and we hired bikes for a day to explore a local area of lakes. Rosie got the comfy seat in the basket on my bike.

As ever in July I spent a few hours at the PotFest in the Park at Hutton in the Forest. I bought 3 ceramic bells, made in Spain. Really pleased with them. The garden has been looking wonderful.
