This year there were blackbirds nesting in the ivy on the front of the house. I fear that the first clutch of fledglings did not survive as I have not seen young. Hopefully Frank Cat is not the culprit.
Many young blue tits and great tits have been gathering at the bird feeders and in the trees in the garden. They seem to have had a successful breeding year.
I love how the large youngsters demand food constantly and the bedraggled adults keep caring for them.
The church has had swallows nesting and raising young and the swifts that always nest in the church tower have been wheeling and screeching around the church and us for a while. The numbers have grown so they must have had a few young. Its one of summers joys to see swifts in the sky on a quiet still evening.
