What a nice Saturday. Summer arrived with hot sun. Did lots of homey chores and then an afternoon in the garden with a book while Hector got more stuff done around the village on the Broadband thing…..
Chris and Fiona came over, ostensibly so we could plan our holiday with them in Norfolk later this year, who takes what etc…. But it was just an excuse to get together really. It was great fun as usual. They brought some yummy Cava Rosé wine and I had had prepared what turned out to be the best dinner I ever cooked – odd that! Garlic chicken breasts sliced into a creamy green bean risotto followed by cheesecake with summer berries and chocolate cups filled with cream. No one was more surprised than me that it was so delish! We ate in the garden and it felt like our holiday had already begun.
Fiona is looking great – so trim and summery. She went with me up the road to water Franks garden while he’s away. We compared diet progress!
Chris was on good form and as always the chat was lively, lovingly argumentative and fun. Can’t wait to holiday with them at our little flint=built thatched cottage in Norfolk.
All in all a thoroughly lovely day.
