1960s themed fancy dress sports day

Hector is away so I am having an ultra-quiet couple of days. The day began with lots of nice easy chores and a bit of shopping. It was the village sports day today and I had promised to take some pics for the village magazine (which I produce for them). It begins with fancy dress floats meeting at the pub and old tractors pull them to the field for the sports. The fancy dress and float theme was the 1960s and there some brilliant interpretations!
The sun shone for a while but just as the trators were pulling into the field the heavens went black and it rained hard for a little while. The sports lasted 4 hours and the sound of cheering and “1,2,3 GO!” filled the village. Very nice. It was nice enough quite late on to get the lounger chair out.
It took a few extra pics while hanging around for the floats….
This cat was in the front path of a farm opposite us.
