newcastle again

Making the most of having to drop off my Macbook to be repaired in Newcastle we took Ross to see the Angel of the North. Blustery but clear and bright. We won’t mention the exasperating shopping trip to the MetroCentre to find a new quilt – it was too horrid. Nice pics from our Angel visit though. Its good for the soul to stand at its feet and look up at its curvy and perfect form.
He enjoys flying above the Angel’s feet…. then three more pics by me. The four pics in the second row were all taken by Ross, who took some great pics that day. His photos are on FLICKR here. I like best my picture of the shadow of the Angel over the football pitch…
My favourite pic of the day. Its strange that the shadow falls symmetrically on the football pitch with the wings outstretched perfectly fitting into the goals. It also looks better in mono with the contrast and brightness adjusted.

Stumble it!

Thanks for the feedback. It was sheer luck we were there just as the sun came out at exactly the right time, don’t suppose it happens often. Guess it depends on the time, time of year etc. A bit like the solstice sun at pre-historic stone circles. Lucky too that I spotted it while taking other pics….I like shadows – they sometimes say more than the actual person or thing casting the shadow.
I wondered if it meant that the next footie game might have an Angel’s blessing!
    Have you visited the Angel?
