Tour de France
We took the train to Skipton with Rosie to watch the Tour de France whizz through. Smashing day and good weather. Thoroughly enjoyed it!

While digging out photos of my gorgeous friend Chrissie who was marrying in late July (for a display at the reception) I also found some old pics of me. Oh my word! They made me feel very old.

In mid July at five this morning I gave up trying and decided to go down to the river. It was so peaceful, quiet, beautiful and sweet that I feel much more calm. I had the camera with me of course. One of the photos got Explored on Flickr and had tens of thousands of views and favourites. A bit of a thrill.

A friend in the village who has a farm and keeps rare breeds invited me over one lunch time to take some pics. Lovely weather and haymaking.

PotFest in the Park and in the Pens
I LOVE PotFest… So many fabulous ceramicists and their wares. I went with Liz and Jess

I was determined at the one in the Park to keep a very tight hold on my purse and allow myself a limited budget. I reckoned without Apollo! I fell in love with him and after mulling it over and talking it through with Liz and Jess I had to buy him. He was my main sculptural piece for the Sitootery. Handsome isn””t he?

Also bought this very stylish oil burner….

Late July and at last the wedding I have been looking forward to for SO long…
Chrissie and Chris. We stayed at a gorgeous B&B near to their home which was a real treat. The weather was stunning – if anything too hot – and it was a happy, loving, colourful, beautiful wedding. Not a dry eye in the house at the reception – which was afternoon tea. A very moving day and I was in tears watching Chrissie so lovely as she arrived at the church.

The week after the wedding and Hector and I were on leave so we could go to the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. I have never been to a large sporting event before and enjoyed it a lot – from the train journey there and the atmosphere in the city to the games we saw. I would very happily go again. As selfless go this is a terrible photo of me…

Unfortunately in July Mum was taken quite ill and after a fall was in hospital for 2 or so weeks. Thankfully she got her strength back and recovered. The damage was temporary and she was so happy to be home again. IT was a hard time, very scary.
