Flaming June

Ooh. Chuffed.
The Woodland Trust want to use one of my photos for their 2014 Calendar. Honoured…. Especially as by coincidence we are members of the Trust. I will keep the identity of which it is to myself as I am sure the Woodland Trust would want it that way.

Went to visit a neighbour after work. They have a small farm and breed rare pigs, sheep, cows and the old yard is full of ducks, geese, chickens etc. With abundant wildlife as well it”s a bit of heaven. This is their driveway… With a nesting box on almost every tree.

Weellll I WAS snoozing with my book.…. But we are just feet from the church tower so it”s loud. Lovely! Obviously. But QUITE LOUD!

We spent mid summer evening with two of our favourite people. Fiona and Chris. Its always a really good time with them. They look very well and happy.

Oh mi gawd! That made me feel nauseous! Mad. MAD!
Insane Himalayas Bus Ride – not for the faint hearted

It is good for the digestion!
Our food digester has been installed. It will digest all food – even bones and cooked meat. Less rubbish to go out in the bins.

The ”Sitootery” yard is maturing and proving to be a real pleasure.

Mid to end May

I have left it too late to do this again! The older we get the busier we get!

Some pics of our short but lovely stay in Staffordshire…. The canal at Tixall/Shugborough and Trentham Gardens. Lovely to dog sit for Monty and cat sit for Cookie (sadly Cookie is no longer with us by July). And especially good to spend time with the delightful Charlotte.

Lovely Niece, Clare, came to visit one afternoon. She was very popular with Frank Cat and Rosie Posie.

Our wisteria is utterly sublime this year. The flowers are so heavy that I had to put supports in for the branches.

Dahlia duals
I invested in some Dahlia tubers from the National Dahlia Collection. Its a running battle with snails and slugs to keep them alive! They are munching their way through them despite all the things I am trying: copper tape, eggshells, wood ash, sharp grit, mint leaves.
