Another pub quiz with Chris and Fiona. Another evening of great fun, superb company and lovely food at the pub. This time it was the Christmas event quiz and LOADS more teams than usual. Also, didn’t really want to win yet again as its a bit embarrassing now…
So we went in relaxed and expecting, at best, to manage somewhere in the top 10 or so. What a huge shock when we won again! All four of us must’ve looked like rabbits caught in headlights. Its still a bit weird!

Got it yesterday… though it was a tad ironic to collect my first ever sporty cabriolet and drive back 60 miles from the dealer in the first snow of the winter! All we need to do now is change over to our new registration number.

We took a VERY short drive out in it this morning with the top down. Very cold!

I’ve badly burned two fingers. A Fi-Pas of the old style. I took a skillet from the oven, put it on the hob, forgot it was straight from the oven and grabbed the handle! I stuck to it!! Apparently a STREAM of words emitted from me – none of which are repeatable! Am now suitably bandaged and finding being without the full use of my left hand a bit awkward!
……3 weeks later and I’m still bandaged up and sore.

No excuses offered…. I’ve been and gone and got me a nice car. A royal blue Renault Megane cabriolet. We found it in Hexham and went over to see it this afternoon after a spell at the Spa. We pick it up next weekend. VERY exciting!
We’ve sold its old personalised number plate (at a profit) and got a new one…
H15 HNF. It’s not too obvious or ostentatious but it means something to us.

We made a move to eat healthily and have kept that up for a week or so now. So far, its really easy and pleasant. And this weekend we also joined the local health club/spa. He will use the gym and I the pool. We can meet up afterwards in the whirlpool before a coffee in the lounge. Its a bit of heaven and we feel better already. The facilities are gorgeous….
I’ve managed 120 lengths in the first few days – but its not a big pool so I can’t be too impressed.. The whirlpool is heaven! I might just try the gym out some time. Gawd knows what a lump like me will look like huffing and puffing among the various machinery and gadgets and instruments of torture!
